HuntSNet were fortunate to have three schools who were within the first eight in the country to be awarded NAACEMark at BETT in January 2003. Cambridgeshire, under the direction of Barry Dowler from the ELH ICT team, were central to the formulation of the standard, and attaining the mark is being given a high priority within the authority. The ICT group are guiding HuntSNet schools towards the standard and using good practice from the three schools to help in this. The categores are:
- A whole school ICT strategic action plan covering a minimum of three years, with an effective means of monitoring and assessing progress
- A clear and comprehensive ICT policy
- A full scheme of work for ICT
- A planning approach to using ICT within, and across, the curriculum to enhance teaching and learning
- Assessment of pupil progress in ICT
- Use of ICT tools to track pupil progress and performance data
- Targets for improving performance and resources
- A commitment to whole school staff development to enable better teaching and learning with ICT
- A commitment to developing communications between the school, homes and the community to promote interest and involvement in learning through ICT
- A commitment to shared development with partners
